Deposits

If paying with CHECK, a 50% deposit per person is due within 30 days of booking. If the check is not received within 30 days of booking, the deposit amount will be charged to your credit card on file.

If paying with a CREDIT CARD, a 50% deposit will be charged at the time of booking. For either payment method, you are more than welcome to pay the full amount at the time of booking. The remaining balance is due at least one day prior to your bear viewing trip. Please call us to make your final payment.

Weight Limitations

To ensure passenger safety and comfort, we cannot accommodate passengers weighing over 300 lbs. fully dressed.We must have each passenger’s weight before departure. Scales are available at the Homer Spit Office and loading dock.

 

All trips are weather-dependent, with limits set by the Federal Aviation Administration. If we are unable to go because of the weather, each passenger has the option of a full refund or to re-book another date (on a space-available basis).

Luggage Limitations

We reserve the right to limit the amount of carry-on luggage up to 12 lbs. per person for our tours; a small backpack and camera equipment are acceptable. We must have each passenger’s weight before departure. Scales are available at the Homer Spit Office and loading dock.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation or trip date change made more than 30 days before check-in receive a full refund less the $100 cancellation fee per person. The deposit is not refunded if cancellations are made between 30 days and 1 day before check-in. Cancellation made 24 hours or less before check-in, the full fare will be charged. NO REFUND! You may want to consider your own trip insurance. Ask your travel agent or check out online insurance. If we cancel, the passenger has the option to fully refund or re-booking on a space-available basis.

Our Aircraft

We own and operate two 10-passenger DeHavilland Single Turbine Otters on floats. These aircraft are the standard for safe travel in the outback of Alaska’s bush country. All trips are weather-dependent, with limits set by the FAA. If we are unable to go due to weather, each passenger has the option of a full refund or rebooking on a space-available basis. We reserve the right to prohibit travelers from continuing on a journey if, in our opinion, their actions pose a threat to the safety of themselves, others, or the wildlife or if their actions or behaviors seriously jeopardize the enjoyment of the trip for others. There will be NO REFUND!

Departures

We require you to check in by phone, or in person at our Homer Spit office,the day before your trip. During that visit we will tell you what to expect the following day, discuss weather contingencies, what to bring, answer any questions, insure we have local contact info, etc.

 

Departures on flight day are at the Homer Beluga Lake Floatplane base. We have found that some map locators on phones or computers may not send you to the right location for your trip departure, even when you input the correct address (3574 A Street).
